What is Vendorization?

Vendorization is the process for identifying, selecting, and utilizing providers to distribute services to Regional Center clients. Regional Centers (RC) verify that a vendor applicant meets all requirements and standards. Each RC throughout California has its own process for a provider to become a vendor.

What documentation do I need to submit to the regional center when requesting vendorization?

It is recommended that you reach out to the Regional Center which you are applying to become a vendor to receive a vendorization package. These packages should include all required forms and documents needed to submit when applying.

Generally, applicants must provide the following forms to the Regional Center they are applying to become a vendor for:

  1. Vendor Application (Form DS 1890)
  2. Applicant/Vendor Disclosure Statement (Form DS 1891)
  3. Documentation outlined in Title 17, Section 54310.
  4. Most programs must be licensed by the Departments of Social Services or Health Services (Title 17, Sections 54342, 56740, 5670(a)(1).

How long does the vendorization process take?

Once the vendor applicant has submitted all necessary documentation and has obtained all necessary licenses, the vendoring Regional Center has 45 days to approve or disapprove the application.
