Training Portal for Tribal Leaders, Representatives, Attorneys and Community Professionals

A spring reminder, the California Tribal Families Coalition (CTFC) now has an online training portal for use by tribes, county social workers, child welfare attorneys, and others marking a significant milestone in the organization’s ongoing commitment to empowering tribal and community professionals.

The online training portal hosts courses about Indian child welfare, including, tribal social services practice, state and federal law and policy, tribal-county collaboration and the latest in caselaw. The portal will also feature content on education, developmental disabilities, juvenile justice and mental health as they intersect with Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). New content is released quarterly and most trainings will be available for continuing education credits for attorneys and/or social workers – please see details associated with each training to confirm eligibility.

Free Member Access

Representatives of CTFC Member Tribes can access training videos and other resources for free through the portal. Member Tribe Delegates (as designated by the Tribe’s membership resolution) have already had accounts created on their behalf. To log in, Delegates should click on the button to “Register an Account”, click on “Log In”, and then click on “Forgot password” to create a password. If an employee or representative (tribal social workers, councilmembers, attorneys, etc.) of a Member Tribe wants to be granted free access, please register for an account on the website. Then email contact@caltribalfamilies.org with the Subject Line “Portal Registration” and include your full name, email address, and position with the Tribe and we will add you to your Member Tribe group. If you are an attorney, you must also include your California State Bar Number in order to receive MCLE credits.

Portal Access for All Others

For all others, the portal can be accessed at https://caltribalfoundation.org/. You will be prompted to register for an account that will open access to training videos. Some content is available for free while other content is available for the fees indicated.

CTFC invites all interested parties to explore the training portal and take advantage of the essential courses which have been designed to enhance professional skills and knowledge in Indian law and Indian child welfare.
