WHY BECOME A MEMBER TRIBE?
Protecting the health, safety and welfare of tribal children and families are inherent tribal governmental functions and at the core of tribal sovereignty and tribal governance. By becoming a member tribe, you will allow us to expand the critical mission of our organization to address the unprecedented tribal child welfare challenges we see today. We believe that through our member tribe’s leadership and guidance, California Tribal Families Coalition will continue to ensure that tribes and tribal families are strengthened and united through advocacy and legislative efforts.
WHO CANÂ BECOMEÂ A MEMBER TRIBE?
All federally-recognized Indian tribes based in California may be voting members of the organization. Federally-recognized tribes not located in California and non-federally-recognized tribes, as well as tribal or Indian child welfare organizations may join CTFC as non-voting members.
HOW DOES MYÂ TRIBE Â BECOME A MEMBER?
Membership is granted upon receipt of a duly adopted tribal government resolution, motion or other official governance action of the member tribe that is in substantial conformity to the membership resolution approved by the CTFC Board of Directors.
