The California Tribal Families Coalition (CTFC) launched an online training portal for use by Member Tribes, tribal and county social workers, child welfare attorneys, and others marking a significant milestone in the organization’s ongoing commitment to empowering tribal and community professionals.
Available as of Oct. 15, the online training portal hosts courses about Indian child welfare, including, tribal social services practice, state and federal law and policy, tribal-county collaboration and the latest in caselaw. The portal will also feature content on education, developmental disabilities, juvenile justice and mental health as they intersect with Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). New content will be released quarterly and most trainings will be available for continuing education credits for attorneys and/or social workers – please see details associated with each training to confirm eligibility.
FREE Member Tribe Access
Representatives of CTFC Member Tribes will be able to access training videos and other resources for free through the portal. Member Tribe Delegates (as designated by the Tribe’s membership resolution) will automatically have accounts created on their behalf. Delegates will receive an email from the portal site soon with a username and password. If a Member Tribe wants additional employees/representatives (tribal social workers, councilmembers, attorneys, etc.) to be granted access, please email contact@caltribalfamilies.org with the Subject Line “Portal Registration” and include the contact’s full name, email address, and position with the Tribe.
Portal Access for All Others
For all others, the portal can be accessed at https://caltribalfoundation.org/. You will be prompted to register for an account that will open access to training videos and other resources. Some content will be available for free until January 1, 2025 to celebrate the launch, while other content will be available for the fees indicated.
