Congratulations 2025 California Legislative Native American Caucus Honorees!
In August, CTFC Vice Chair, Councilwoman Catalina R. Chacon of the Pechanga Band of Indians was honored by the California Legislative Native American Caucus at the Sixth Annual California Indian Cultural Awareness Event as an honoree, along with other representatives from CTFC member tribes including::
- Judge Abby Abinanti, Yurok Tribe
- Rose Marie Salgado, Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians
- Chairman Frederick Quinton “Bo” Mazzetti, Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians
Councilwoman Catalina R. Chacon serves as Vice Chair of the California Tribal Families Coalition, Vice Chair of the Tribal Alliance of Sovereign Indian Nations, and is a member of the Commission on the Status of Women and Girls. She is active in advocating for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People crisis, the Feather Alert, and Indian and Tribal Child Welfare.
