Call for Artwork 2022

CALL FOR ARTWORK

The California Tribal Families Coalition (CTFC) invites artists to participate in the 2022 CTFC Call for Artwork. CTFC is seeking submissions of artwork that the organization will use to brand educational materials for a new project aimed at improving access to developmental disability services in tribal communities. To read more about the project, please visit: https://caltribalfamilies.org/early-start/.

CTFC welcomes all artwork submissions, and especially encourages people with California ties and who identify as Native and disabled to participate. The artist of the selected piece will receive $1,000 and statewide reach/recognition.

Submissions will be accepted through the 2022 CTFC Call for Artwork Form or via email at contact@caltribalfamilies.org. Low resolution photos can be accepted for the initial submission, but the artist must be willing to work with CTFC to produce high resolution images that can be used for print materials.

Eligibility:

  • Artists must be 5 or older as of the submission deadline;
  • No documentation or disclosure of disability is necessary to participate;
  • All artwork submitted must be available to print as original artwork on any CTFC educational materials the organization chooses. If the artwork has been previously sold or is no longer in possession of the artist, it should not be entered; and
  • An artist’s statement or bio is required. The statement should describe anything the artist wants people to know about them and the artwork. It can include biographical information and what inspired the piece.

Examples of submissions include, but are not limited to, collages, graphic design, sewing projects, drawings, paintings, plant-based flat lays, photographs, sculptures, beadwork, carvings, or baskets.

Submissions are due by July 22, 2022. If you have any questions, please contact Josh Martinez at Josh.martinez@caltribalfamilies.org. CTFC will notify artists by July 29, 2022 of the results.
